FREE FARE PROMOTION CELEBRATES SENIOR INDEPENDENCE MONTH
NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (Feb. 15, 2024) – The Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA), and TriCounty Link (TCL) will offer free rides to seniors ages 55 and older on Monday, Feb. 19. The free fair promotion celebrates February as Senior Independence Month. It is the first of several such days planned for 2024.
Riders are asked to present a valid photo ID when boarding.
“Access to safe, reliable, and affordable transportation is critical to providing seniors in our region the independence they deserve,” said CARTA Board Chairman Mike Seekings. “We’re excited to offer this benefit to our riders and encourage everyone eligible to take advantage of this opportunity to try the system – for free.”
CARTA and TCL will operate on a normal schedule for Presidents Day, Feb. 19. The CARTA system map is available here. Riders can view the TCL route schedule here.
